Kosher/Halaal Meals

As of February 2006, two of the four campus dining halls (Greylock and Mission Park) feature a "Kosher-Halaal Korner" that makes kosher/halaal foods constantly available to students. A refrigerator at each Kosher Korner is stocked with kosher/halaal entrees prepared by our Executive Chef in the kitchen of the campus Jewish Religious Center, in accordance with strict kashrut standards. Additionally, kosher/halaal deli meats, all-beef hot dogs, hamburger patties and various breads and condiments are available. Equipment, including the refrigerator, a microwave, toaster oven, and grill are dedicated exclusively to the storage and heating of kosher/halaal products.

In order to maintain the integrity of this service: please do not bring any regular dining hall food into this area; do not bring any plates, knives, forks, or other dishes into this area; do not use any of the equipment for any other food other than Kosher-Halaal Korner items.

Dining Services has also begun to include kosher/halaal sandwiches at Grab 'n' Go, the take-out lunch option on campus.

Vegetarian Meals

Dining Services offers many vegetarian options. Customers looking for non-animal-based foods will find both vegan and vegetarian entrées, as well as many other products, in all dining halls. Tofu, tempeh, nuts and seeds, legumes, and whole grains, as well as a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables are available to all diners. Specialty products, including a variety of dairy alternatives, can be found in small coolers in each dining hall. Most food that is vegetarian or vegan is marked as such. If you have questions regarding ingredients in food, please ask staff or call the Executive Chef at x2050.
