PHIL 401(F) Senior Seminar: Contemporary Philosophy+
This course is to be conducted as a working seminar or colloquium. Discussion will focus on very recent books and articles chosen in such a way as to give a representative sample of the variety of work presently being done in philosophy. Our main focus this semester will be on twentieth-century epistemology. Students will lead many of the discussions and, in keeping with the seminar format, will have the opportunity to pursue independent research. Requirements: weekly short papers (1-2 pages), class presentation and participation, and a final paper (10-15 pages). Prerequisite: senior major status or permission of instructor.
