ENGL 314(F) Renaissance Drama (Same as Theatre 315)
A consideration of some of the major playwrights of the English Renaissance, and some of the most lurid and ravishing literary material you're likely to find anywhere. Among the readings will be Kyd's The Spanish Tragedy, Marlowe's Doctor Faustus, Middleton's The Changeling, Marston's The Malcontent, Webster's The Duchess of Malfi, and Jonson's Volpone. Requirements: active class participation and 15-20 pages of writing. Prerequisite: a 100-level English course, except 150 (formerly 103). (Pre-1800)
