RLSP 201 Spanish Romanticism and Realism (Not offered 1998-99; to be offered Fall 1999)

An examination of the two major literary movements in nineteenth-century Spain. Readings in such representative writers as Larra, Espronceda, Zorrilla, Bécquer, Valera, and Galdós. Conducted in Spanish. Evaluation will be based on active class participation, two written assignments, and a final exam. Prerequisite: Spanish 105 or higher.
