REL 101(F,S) Introduction to Religion
An examination of the structure and dynamics of certain aspects of religious thought, action, and sensibility-employing psychological, sociological, anthropological, and philosophical modes of inquiry. The course offers a general exposure to basic methodological issues in the study of religion, and includes consideration of several cross-cultural types of religious expression in non-literate and literate societies. Requirements: a midterm paper and a final exam. Lecture and discussion.
