This course examines basic principles of plant growth and development with
emphasis on how plants interact with their environment. Selected topics include:
light responses, hormone physiology, plant-microbe interactions, morphogenesis,
floral development, and meristem function. Laboratory activities stress modern
approaches to studying plant biology including the use of genetic mutants.
Evaluation will be based on problem sets, lab reports, hour exams and a final
exam. Lectures and laboratory: six hours a week. Prerequisites: Biology 101,
