An examination of the two major literary movements in nineteenth-century Spain. Readings in such representative writers as Larra, Espronceda, Zorrilla, B#cquer, Valera, and Gald#s. Conducted in Spanish. Evaluation will be based on active class participation, two written assignments, and a final exam. Prerequisite: Spanish 105 or higher.
