PSYC 333 Child Study (Not offered 1997-98; to be offered 1998-99)

This course offers first-hand experience in the observation and study of children. Students learn observational skills in a pre-school setting, as well as having an opportunity to conduct an original empirical study with the children. Through the observation of children's play, we discover how they develop social skills, sex roles, gender identity, a sense of self and self-control. Two discussions and one laboratory meeting per week. Requirements: two hour tests and a report of research project. Prerequisite: Psychology 232 and Psychology 201. Empirical Project
