PHYS 456(S) Advanced Electronics
Electronic instrumentation forms the technological basis for much of modern
scientific research. Students who have already completed Physics 200F Electronics
or its equivalent, may pursue further studies in this fascinating and very
practical field. Topics to be investigated will include digital electronics,
analog to digital interfaces, and signal processing. Students will be introduced
to control and data acquisition systems based on the LabView programming
language.
Evaluation will be based on problem sets, laboratory projects, and weekly
presentations. Prerequisites: Physics 200 or equivalent, and permission of
the instructor.
