To be conducted as a working seminar or colloquium. Discussion will focus on very recent books and articles chosen in such a way as to give a representative sample of the variety of work presently being done in philosophy. Students will lead many of the discussions and, in keeping with the seminar format, will have the opportunity to pursue independent research. Requirements: class reports and a substantial research project. Prerequisite: senior major status or permission of instructor.
