HIST 301C(S) The Wilsonian Legacy
This course will explore the historiography surrounding not only the presidency
and personal life of Woodrow Wilson, but the complicated legacy bequeathed
by the century's first Democratic president. Topics to be covered include
Wilson and the changing nature of progressive ideology, the origins of
progressive internationalism, Wilson, the Democratic party, and the politics
of civil rights, and the changing conceptions of both Wilson and his ideology
in the decades since his death.
Evaluation will be based on class participation and several short papers.
