ECON 215(S) The World Economy
An introduction to international trade and finance with an emphasis on issues of current interest. Topics to be discussed may include: why we trade; theories of the pattern of trade; the effects of tariffs and other trade barriers on national wealth and income distribution; the balance of payments, foreign exchange markets and the way they interact with the domestic macroeconomy; LDC's and the international debt crisis. Prerequisite: Economics 101. Students who have completed Economics 251 must have permission of instructor.
