CSCI 432(F) Operating Systems (Offered 1997-98; not to be offered 1998-99)

How computer operating systems allocate resources and create virtual machines. Topics will include storage management, scheduling, concurrent processing, protection of data, and user interfaces. Evaluation will be based primarily on problem assignments, projects, and exams. PROJECT COURSE. Prerequisites: Computer Science 136 and Computer Science 237.
