MATH 301(F) Real Analysis (Q)
The real and complex number systems. Elementary topology of the real line and plane. Functions of a single variable: limits, continuity, differentiability, the Riemann and Riemann-Stieltjes integrals. Sequences, series and uniform convergence. Elementary topology of metric spaces and functions on metric spaces with emphasis on R. Format: lecture. Evaluation will be based primarily on performance on problem assignments, projects, and exams. Prerequisite: Mathematics 105, 211 or permission of instructor. No enrollment limit (expected: 25). This is a quantitative/formal reasoning course.
