ARTH 566(S) American and European Art Between the Wars

Students will attend the lectures of the undergraduate course "Transatlantic Modernism: Paris and New York in the Early 20th Century," which examines modernism in the American visual arts at home and abroad. In the seminar students will discuss and debate specialized readings relating to the core themes of transatlantic expatriation, cultural politics, and creative alliances. Each student will make a class presentation and write a research paper on a topic of his or her own choosing. Enrollment limit: 12.
