An introduction to the basic principles of research in psychology. We focus on how to design and execute experiments, analyze and interpret the results, and write research reports. Students conduct a series of experiments in different areas of psychology (e.g., social, personality, cognitive) which illustrate basic designs and methods of analysis. Requirements: three papers, midterm exam, and a final exam. Prerequisite: Psychology 101. Two sections each semester. Enrollment limited to 22 per section. Not open to first-year students.
