ARTS 319(F) Junior Seminar: Methods in Contemporary Art Practice
The Junior Seminar is an opportunity for creative students to study the historical, social and political context in which art is currently made and, in relation to this context, develop his/her own ideas and express them visually.
Format: seminar and studio workshop. Requirements: Research project culminating in an oral presentation. Weekly studio assignments. Participation in field trips. Lab fee: $75 for field trips. Students are expected to provide their own materials.
Prerequisites: one 100- and one 200-level class in studio art or permission of the instructor. Preference to Studio Art and History and Practice majors, Art History majors. (Note: students need to have the MWF 9-9:50 hour free for presentations.)
