This is a video of an aluminum can being crushed by atmospheric pressure. The can is filled with a small amount of water and then heated beyond the boiling point. After the water boils for a time, the hot can contains only water and water vapor. The can is then turned upside down in a dish of room temperature water. The vapor inside the can quickly condenses as it cools and a vacuum is formed inside the can. At this point there is no pressure inside the can to counteract the atmospheric pressure outside and the can collapses. In other words, the can is crushed by the weight of the atmosphere above it.
