This is a video of a pizza pan being removed from under four balls mounted on small steel tubes. A large horizontal force is applied to the pizza pan when it is struck with the broom handle. This causes the pan to accelerate sideways. The balls however do not experience any horizontal force and their inertia keeps them in the same position. Once the supports are removed the ball fall down into the cups directly beneath them.
