Airball

This is a video of a balloon being popped. Elastic energy is stored as the rubber of the balloon stretches as it is filled with air. Although the pressure inside the balloon is slightly higher than outside there is negligible compression of the air inside. Once the balloon is popped the rubber relaxes before the air can move. One can clearly see that the air inside the balloon maintains its shape as the rubber shrinks back to its equilibrium size.
