"Putting the Quantum into Mechanics"

In the last few years great advances have been made in the construction and measurement of nano-mechanical resonators and mesoscopic superconducting circuits.  To observe quantum behavior of mechanical resonators, one must induce nonlinear dynamics in these systems, or make measurements of nonlinear observables.  We will describe a variety of ways to do this using superconducting devices, along with the quantum mechanical effects that result.
