COLLEGE STUDENT POSITIONS
Music Department
student employees are valued assistants who manage events,
record concerts, help with publicity and office work, etc.
Although most of these positions are filled in the fall, positions
may open throughout the year.
Office Assistants (3-4)
Responsible aides assist with phone, filing, MAC computer
tasks, post notices, file CDs and LPs in department library.
Concert Manager Office Assistant (1)
Assist Concert Manager with writing and copying program notes,
research for publicity, filing programs and other miscellaneous
tasks.
Event Manager (4-5)
Take-charge individuals manage/oversee all department and
campus events scheduled in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall and
some in Chapin, including concerts, lectures and panel discussions.
Box Office Assistant (3)
Handle ticket sales, program distribution, cash drop if needed,
attendance count, etc. for department concerts.
Audio Technician (3-4)
Record departmental concerts and recitals onto computerized
discs, burn them onto CDs.
Poster Distributor (1)
Exercise as you work for the Concert Manager to distribute
posters/flyers to numerous campus and nearby off-campus locations
in a timely fashion.
Berkshire Symphony Orchestra Librarian (1)
Responsible for distributing and collecting symphony parts
for students and professional musicians; maintain library;
return rental music to publishers.
Berkshire Symphony Orchestra Stage Manager (2)
It couldn't happen without responsible individuals to set
up and put away chairs, stands and other equipment for each
rehearsal and performance, and assist as requested with stage
changes during concerts.
Chamber Choir Librarian (1-2)
Oversee ordering, distribution and collection of music; maintain
choral library.
Chamber Choir General Manager (1)
Assist the choral director in planning rehearsals and performances;
correspondence, delegate tasks, gather attendance sheets,
maintain database.
Jazz Ensemble Librarian (2)
Assist director at rehearsals and concerts. Distribute and
collect music; filing.
Piano Accompanist (Variable)
Accompany student musicians in rehearsals, lessons and performances
as needed.
