Marcela has been the Program Coordinator since the fall of 1994. She immigrated to California from Mexico in 1974 and moved to Williamstown in 1988 when her husband, Enrique, was offered a position in the Chemistry Department here at the college. Marcela taught Spanish for three years at the Buxton School in Williamstown. Also she has created and organized the impressive Video and photographs Archive at the MCC that represents ten years of student dedication, innovation, talent, and spirit.
She is the mother of three talented young ladies: Alexandra, who is 18 years old and entering the class of 2011 at Bowdoin College; Lili, who is 25, graduated from Dartmouth and finished her first year at the University of Washington Medical School in Seattle; and Paola, a 26 year old graduate from Dartmouth with a title of Master of Science from the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, and living in Lesotho working as a Paediatric Programme Coordinator for the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative.
