The Williams Record

The Williams Record, founded in 1885, publishes the College's only weekly newspaper. It focuses particularly on issues pertaining to the campus and provides a forum for people to express viewpoints through opinions pieces and letters. The Record covers news, sports, and arts events on campus and has a features section that highlights various college-related people, places, and events. The newspaper is published every Tuesday with the exception of holidays and during reading periods and exams.

The Williams Literary Review

The Williams Literary Review is the campus's oldest literary publication. It accepts submissions of student art, poetry and prose for each semester's issue. All work is reviewed anonymously by the entire staff. They are dedicated to putting out a high quality magazine, both in content and form, and they are particularly interested in expanding their coverage of the fine arts. Once submissions are received, the staff meets regularly to select material for publication, giving each submission the attention it deserves. These meetings are a great opportunity for art-philes to take a break in a wonderfully laid-back forum dedicated to discussing quality writing and fine art over piping-hot cups of Goodrich coffee. The staff invite anyone interested in art or running a magazine to join the staff, and encourage the entire campus to submit their work for publication.

Culture Counter

Culture Counter is Williams's magazine of arts and letters on campus, dedicated to bringing the cultural experiences of other students, professors, and other members of the Williams community to the attention of the entire campus. The staff prints one or two magazines yearly containing interviews, thesis excerpts, excerpts from professors' works, poems, stories, art, art portfolios, book reviews, museum reviews, art reviews, and other essays about things having to do with culture both in and beyond Williamstown. Think the New Yorker gone rural. Culture Counter welcomes submissions of any of the above, staff contributions, editorial help, and encourages all students to join up!
