Labyrinth Walking Schedule 2008

Location for all dates listed above will be the
Fellowship Hall at the 1st Congregational Church
(on Chapin Hall Drive across the lawn from Paresky Center).

Medieval pilgrims to Chartres used to walk the stone labyrinth that's inscribed on the floor of the cathedral as a symbolic way of completing and consecrating their journeys.  In this season of sacred days, when both Jewish and Christian communities are reliving arduous journeys at the center of their faith, walking the omni-sectarian labyrinth can offer a peaceful respite, a occasion for centered reflection, a solemn or hope-filled prayerful interlude, a way of finding your own path to the place of promise.  A slow, reflective walk takes about 20 to 30 minutes.  Instruction leaflets will be available (it could hardly be simpler!) as well as other resources to nourish your journey.

Unless otherwise noted, all scheduled labyrinth walks will take place In the Fellowship Hall of the First Congregational Church, 906 Main Street, near the heart of the Williams campus.  All are welcome.  Exact hours for walking will be posted on this website, and advertised in Daily Messages and Daily Advisor as they become available.  Please call the Chaplains' Office, 597-2483 for further information.
