Teaching Associate in Spanish

I’m from the Island of Enchantment: Puerto Rico, recognized for its beautiful beaches, rain forest El Yunque, salsa music and dance and its friendly people. I grew up in Yauco, a city located in the southern coast of the island by the Caribbean Sea and known in Spanish as "ciudad del café" (City of Coffee.) Since studying at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, I have lived the past six years in San Juan, the capital city. I studied Foreign Languages and Latin American literature.

I enjoy watching movies. My interests range from Woody Allen to Ingmar Bergman and Chaplin, and much in between. I’m a traveler, so I’m interested in discovering cultures, and I have to say that I’m fascinated with Scandinavian culture. Also, I am a passionate reader. My favorites writers, just to mention a few, are Roberto Bolaño (Chile), Manuel Abreu Adorno (Puerto Rico), Julio Cortázar (Argentina), José Saramago (Portugal) and Philip Roth (USA.)

Soy de la Isla del Encanto: Puerto Rico, reconocida por sus hermosas playas, El Yunque  (el bosque lluvioso), la salsa y su baile, y su gente tan amable. Crecí en una ciudad al sur en la costa caribeña llamada Yauco, conocida como la Ciudad del Café. Como estudié en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Río Piedras, en los últimos años he vivido en San Juan, la ciudad capital. Allí estudié Lenguas Extranjeras y Literatura Latinoamericana.

Disfruto de ver películas. Mi interés varía desde Woody Allen, Ingmar Bergman hasta Chaplin, y mucho más. Me considero una viajera, pues me interesa descubrir diferentes culturas, y tengo que decir que me fascina la cultura escandinava. También me apasiona leer. Mis escritores favoritos, por mencionar algunos, son Roberto Bolaño (Chile), Manuel Abreu Adorno (Puerto Rico), Julio Cortázar (Argentina), José Saramago (Portugal) y Philip Roth (EE.UU.).
