CONNECTIONS FOR STUDENT PRESENTATIONS
Live Internet connection not recommended.
If using the Classroom Computers (PC or MAC):
Log into your network drive
Compact Disk: Insert into drive drawer
Memory Stick/Thumb Drive/Jump Stick: USB connection, log off network drive before inserting. Or, right click on “My Network Places” and click on “Disconnect Network Drive” then insert cable to USB port.
I-Pod: Connect to USB port and use as an exterior drive. Or connect to video input via RCA cable or I-Pod AV cable (This will bypass computer directly to projection and will be controlled via the I-Pod).
If using a laptop:
PC: Connect to the console labeled laptop or connect in the front of the room (L3) to the auxiliary connection.
MAC: Use either the I-Book or Power Book adapter and follow same directions as the PC. Adapters are in closet in the Visual Resource Center, return when finished. (There is an I-Book adapter in L3 as well)
Other Information:
Macs: Have Fire Wire capability, PC’s don’t (L1,L3,L231, No Mac in L2)
Create a Fire Wire Drive: You can turn your laptop into an exterior Fire Wire by connecting to the resident MAC via Fire Wire cable then boot up your laptop while holding the T key down. The resident MAC will recognize your laptop as an exterior drive.
