COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The use of all images is restricted to “fair use”: noncommercial education and scholarly uses within Williams College. Images are available for use only to those authorized by this institution.
Use may vary with format and examples of permitted use include:
Classroom instruction and related activities such as presentation, research and assignments; display or performance as part of a non-commercial educational presentation; student or faculty portfolios, term papers and theses and restricted course websites for study purposes.
Copyright law of the United States (Title 17, US Code), governs the making of reproductions of copyrighted material. Any individual who makes a photocopy, digital copy or other reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use”, may be liable for copyright infringement.
For digital image use, the Visual Resources Center complies with United States copyright law (U.S. Copyright Act of 1976, 90 Stat 2541).
When acquiring and providing digital images, the center follows the Image Collection Guidelines of the Visual Resources Association.
Downloading and reproduction of some images may be subject to further limitation, including that for a specific image.
