Scarlett Jang offers courses in Asian art on both undergraduate and graduate levels. Examples of her course offerings are Asian Art Survey, Political Symbolism in Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) Painting, Japanese Art and Culture, Zen Arts in China and Japan, the Path to Nirvana: Buddhist Art in Asia, and Chinese Calligraphy: Theory and Practice (a course combining art history and studio practice). She has received research grants from the Committee on Scholarly Communication with China, the J. Paul Getty Foundation, the Samuel Kress Foundation, the Metropolitan Center for East Asian Studies, and the Mabelle MacLeod Lewis Memorial Fund, among others.
