Troy Duster, Professor of Sociology, NYU, "The Molecular Reinscription of Race." The 2004-2005 President of the American Sociological Association, Duster is the author of Backdoor to Eugenics (2nd edition, 2003) and Race: Essays on the Concept and its Uses in Multi-Racial and Multi-Cultural Societies (1995) and editor of Whitewashing Race: the Myth of a Color-Blind Society and Cultural Perspectives on Biological Knowledge (1984), among many other books. Duster has taught in the Department of Anthropology & Sociology at Williams as a Distinguished Visiting Professor, and ANSO looks forward to welcoming him to the campus again in February. |
